HTML code

HTML is the abbreviation for HyperText Markup Language. It’s a markup language used to create web pages.

* If you want to learn more about markup language, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markup_language

There are more versions of HTML :

  • HTML 4.01 Strict
  • HTML 4.01 Transitional
  • HTML 4.01 Frameset
  • HTML 5

All HTML pages beginning and ending with tags <html> and </ html>. Inside the tag we find pairings <head> </ head> and <body> </ body>.

Let’s start with a simple document: Write this code in any text editor (Notepad for example) and save it with name index.html (at every html document you must put the extension .html)

<html>
<head>
<title> simple document </ title>
</ head>

<body>
<h1> text document you write here <h1>
</ body>
</ html>

<h1> is the size of the font (the sizes are between h1 andh 6, and h1 is the biggest).
